From weekend tours through the SUNY system to Billboard summer smashes, the Brooklyn-born Nigerian artist
melvitto has accumulated hundreds of millions of listens while otherwise opting out of the spotlight. With
minimal social presence and next-to-no visuals, he prefers to move like an ever-present spirit: figure never
centered, but presence forever felt through his work moving millions. His collaborative nature and
relentless DIY ethos have guided him through over 15 years of creating as a singer, producer, engineer, A&R,
and businessman. Operating primarily in afrobeats, melvitto’s had a hand in the genre’s global evolution
from small clubs on Flatbush Ave to the most decorated stages abroad.
melvitto began his career as a member of the A’won Boyz, a foundational New York afrobeats group known for
their viral remixes of “Azonto” and “Pakurumo,” and the song “One of a Kind.” melvitto’s known for producing
Ayo Jay’s Gold-certified Billboard smash “Your Number,” and engineering the Wande Coal-DJ Tunez classic
“Iskaba.” Since 2017, melvitto’s self-released five EPs and collaborated with the likes of Gabzy, Wande
Coal, Nonso Amadi, Ayo Jay, and Oxlade among many others. His Gabzy collaborations - including records like
“In Fact,” “Stay,” and “Trouble” among others - have over 200 million streams altogether. melvitto’s also
produced Wande Coal’s biggest hit “Again,” as well as the fan favorite “Gentility.” melvitto’s biggest solo
song, the completely self-produced “Santorini Coffee,” has over 100 million streams to date.
